Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions? I have answers.

How do I set up a consultation?

Contact me (via submission form, email, or call) and we can discuss your needs.

What are the costs for services?

Services are customized to the needs of the customer and the project. This can be discussed upon initial contact.

Do I have to use specific products to get help?

No! I am happy to consult on the mud you are using. I believe in tuning in your mud properties so, you can use the products that fit your cost structure. However, I may recommend a type of chemistry to add to your system, but I will not recommend a specific product/company.

Do you sell products that I can purchase?

Unfortunately, not at this time.

What does an on-site mud engineer do?

I can help with a slurry program or follow one you have set up. I can be on-site for the duration of the project and test the mud at the frequency requested, to the specification set forth for the project. A daily mud report will be prepared and submitted with any adjustments required. At a minimum, I can test the following properties on-site, including Marsh Funnel viscosity, rheology, gel strengths, fluid loss (filtrate), pH, total hardness, chlorides, density/specific gravity, sand content, and calculate apparent viscosity (AV), plastic viscosity (PV), yield point (YP), and Tau0.

How do I set up a training?

Contact me to discuss available timing and the topics you wish to cover. Once you are on the calendar, the date(s) are held for your team training.

How long are trainings?

Training duration varies. Trainings can be between 1-day and 5-days, depending on your needs and available timeframe.

Do I get CE / CEU credits for training?

It depends. As I am able to train across the US, it becomes challenging to keep up with state-specific annual submissions. However, when discussed and planned in advance, I can provide a thorough description of the customized training program, as well as a bio of my professional background for you to submit. Alternatively, I can submit for credit when provided submission contact information.

Will I receive a certificate for training?

Yes! Everyone who completes the training will receive a certificate of completion for the class.

Are there services that you provided that are not listed?

Yes! Among the services mentioned on this website, I have a unique cradle-to-grave perspective of drilling products, including product formulations, manufacturing, compatibility and certification requirements.
